Easy Does It by Mark Keathley

“It seems that things happen at the most inconvenient times in life.  Why couldn’t this have happened yesterday when it was warm - I’ve thought many times trying to “fix” something that needed attention.  No matter the circumstances, however, when I embrace the present - the understanding that “NOW” matters more (the person I’m with - the thing I’m doing) I find that the joy of being alive in “THIS” is fantastic.  When I was painting this man and his horse in this snowy scene, at first I thought of the drudgery or the “have too” but as I put more and more into my present (painting) I felt the spirit of the cowboy rise.  This is a great adventure we are on and it is beautiful!  So much so we might have to tell our steed - "Easy Does It!”
