Wisconsin Winter Night by Abraham Hunter

With the cold moving in, this painting might strike a chord with some of you. After how hot the last summers have been, I've noticed it wearing on my health during the extreme heat, so I've started looking at places I hadn't considered when I was younger that are more on the cool/less allergies side. I've been really interested in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and Upper Peninsula Michigan. I think the white deer they have up there are really cool and bufflehead ducks remind me of cold weather. These ducks are flying in for the evening in the backwaters of a lake, where perhaps the presence of humans will keep them a bit safer. I often enjoy an evening painting session, so I built myself a studio on the edge of the water next to the boat. ~ Abraham Hunter
