I want to share with you a painting that was forever in the making and includes so many little details of the joys of rural life. Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. All of the woodland animals are active preparing for the coming winter, and life on the farm is full of beauty and harvest. Nestled in the Appalachian foothills, this little homestead invites the travelers in the vintage truck to come and enjoy a hearty meal and relax by the fireplace for a cozy evening. Along the babbling brook, some deer have been alerted to the automobiles loud presence and are wary. The smaller creatures are less secure. The bunnies bolt, the quail hide, and the turkeys pause their strutting and move away from the disturbance.  As you look at this painting, I wanted you to be taken away by the light of the sun bursting through the dense forest and golden field. Its warmth is much appreciated on this chilly, colorful evening.
