This painting was a follow up to a spring painting I did with a similar theme. I spent a lot of time on this one this spring, because I was already looking forward to the colors and weather of fall time. I like portraying weather and wind movement in my art when I can. In this painting a cool front is moving and passing over the mountains. The wet leaves glisten in the light as the sun breaks out from behind the scattered remaining clouds. The bear family is out from the forest to mosey along the river bed and clearing looking for a snack. The last remaining fall wildflowers hold on against the cold breezes. The rustic cabin gives you a warm place to go sit and spend the night enjoying the peace of the mountain woodlands.
