Oh the wonder of spring. It used to be a quick two week sprout when we went from the nice weather of a south Texas winter, to the heat of the summer, and the trees greened in that week we called spring. However, now that we live where it actually gets cold, spring is much more of an event and a needed respite from the cold. When spring arrives, it seems to embrace the soul and remind me that all is well, the world is waking up, there is hope for life and food is on the way. By that time, the three months of winter have taken their toll, my animals are ready and waiting, often calling to me, “come on! feed us!” and I’m ready to take a break. Yes, spring is a wonderful time! In this painting, I want to touch the senses, with the warm embrace and aromas that would accompany the most memorable spring one could remember, as you stroll through the forest path to a place of peace and rest. Soak up Spring’s Embrace.
