There are places I visit that feel like dreams come true. When I
visited charming Cape May, I felt as if I'd stepped into
one of my own romantic paintings. I knew I had to paint Jackson Street,
Cape May.
As I set up my easel, a coastal fog rolled in, casting the ornate
Victorian buildings in a soft, shimmering light. Street and house
lights came on; their reflections glistened in the mirror surface of
the damp streets. Umbrellas and lavish flowers opened. Jackson Street,
Cape May is a memorable image of the many charms of small town life in
America.
